SIM Series - Preview...

Hello, my name is Scott Pho. Yep, that’s me on the left! Welcome to SIM Series! Simply put, this is the story of twelve SIM Players, who let go of their horses to allow YOU, the SIMSTER to control their actions. All to prove that the horses may not be real, but the emotions really are!

This is SIM SERIES… Their Horses. Your Decisions!

FLASHBACK:

March 6th, 2009 8:24PM
Year 23 Week 16 Friday

I sat in my office after my three Steward's Cup entries were thoroughly defeated. I couldn’t make the trip to Toronto, but my jockey, Byron Cooper broke the news to me. I was moping around, shaking my head, thinking about how my unending optimism and the sloppy track convinced me to send them to their demise in Toronto. The speed figures said no, but the prestige, the purses, and even the smallest chance that one of them might pull off a HUGE upset motivated me enough to ship them. Deep down inside, I didn’t think any of them would win and unfortunately, that eerie bad feeling that you get when you think something will go wrong only ended up being confirmed. In the end, I lost $35,000 SIM Dollars and finished 6th, 10th, and 10th.

Something important happened though as I was looking over my horse’s careers. I wondered if I was the best trainer/owner for some of them. I asked myself, “If the Fergusons and Nalbones of the world trained this horse, would they have faired any better?” Quite honestly, I couldn’t answer that with a rousing “YES!” or a rousing “NO!”

I began looking at my yearlings, especially the few that had “potential.” I wanted to instant message some veterans and ask them to campaign them for me. They could keep the purses. I was more curious about their thought process. Would I agree or disagree with their decisions? What would I learn by watching them? Could I really give up control of one of my horses completely? Did anybody else share my sentiments?

Luckily, others did and SIM Series was born.

OK. BACK TO CURRENT DAY:

SIM Series will be broken up into two phases or Volumes, if you will. Volume 1 will consist of 6 sprinters from 6 different owners; 3 Dirt Sprinters and 3 Turf Sprinters. Two will debut every week for the first 3 weeks. The owners will get the opportunity to pick their first races. After that, it will be up to YOU! and the SIM Community to vote and decide on where to send their horses. Two will be eliminated after Week 9 Friday via SIM Vote and two more will be eliminated after Week 16 Friday.

Starting in Week 8, Volume 2 will consist of the 6 Routers from 6 different owners and follow the same basic format. The final nominations will be released soon. More details will follow regarding Volume 2 next week!

And so…without further delay, here’s the SPRINTERS aka VOLUME 1...
